Fontan Procedure Treatment

The Fontan procedure is a type of heart surgery performed to treat complex congenital heart defects where only one ventricle functions properly. It is most commonly used for conditions like Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).The surgery aims to direct venous blood flow directly to the pulmonary arteries, bypassing the heart, to improve oxygenation of the blood.
